A few weeks ago Ms. L called and I could tell by her voice that she was excited! She had gotten bit by one of the exhibit girls (three otters who live permanently at the aquarium) while they were being moved for tank maintenance.
The down side was a trip to the emergency room for a tetanus shot and a round of antibiotics as a precaution. The up side is since it was one of the "girls" the chance of the wound getting infected or her needing a rabies shot was minuscule.
Now she feels like a "real" biologist.
